Heard of JOHO? Well if no, you're missing out on pop culture and a lot of sweet, sweet indie youth goodness then! it's basically an organisation where they do events primarily for youths around Johor. But to me, it's more of an indie kinda thing, so THAT got me thrilled and jumping around for joy! haha Anyway, last Saturday, there was an event called #twtupjohor which was held at the IMIC. There were indie film screenings, concerts, games, junk sales (more often called as Car Boot Sale) where little trinklets and thrifted clothes are sold and a lot of others! Gosh, I could have been in my little devoted heaven. Could have? Well, I was in a moving car when I found out about the event and the whole JOHO thingamajig, after googling it and checking out #twtupjohor which was trending on Twitter. I was like, Dang!
Anyway, yesterday was great! Went to this JOHO Indie Film Session @ The Red Building along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee which was in the heart of JB town. And it was actually a spur of the moment decision as the initial plan for the night was to go get a new pair of specs at the optometrist in Sutera Mall. But the PM was having a walkabout and a dinner with the people there. so, we reckoned we weren't able to find a parking space and sure, there were a lot of people and not to mention, police and security. So, Dad decided to bring me to this film screening I told him about that evening itself! I was soooo thrilled!

The Red Building |
Funny thing was the film screening was at the top level and there was this photo exhibition at the lower level. So, being new to all this awesome JOHO shizzles (stole Nay's word! click to check her blog!), we decided to look around. There's this Karnival Budaya & Warisan (Culture and Heritage Carnival) going on all though the holidays (16-18 March) and there's a lot of activities going on along the infamous streets of JB. And catch this, this involves closing of roads just for certain events! Wow, is the word! Anyway, more information can be found at the JOHO website!
Anyway, back to the tour around the ground floor. And so we were looking at the photo contest winners and guess what?! BAMMMMMMM !

Looks familiar? |
I saw myself in the 2nd place picture! OMG, what are the odds, right? Looks like a photographer decided to take a picture of excited students at the Flora Fest back 4 years ago and decided to enter it in some photo contest now! And who would've thought a picture of schoolgirls included me as one of them? Who would've thought I would so coincedently be in the Red Building during the photo exhibition when the photo is being portrayed? What if I had gone to the optometrist in Sutera Mall? What if I didn't enter the red building at all? Pure coincidence much?
Here are some pictures I took while roaming the streets :)
As usual, the JB Bazaar will be everywhere and the streets of JB came alive! Saw Elisa and some of her new peeps, another Italian girl whom i didn't catch her name (Elisa, I know you're reading! fill me in!) and a couple more Japanese and Chinese peeps! Was great to see her again :)
