LIMA2013, Here I Come!

Guess what? LIMA is back!
As some of you might know, the Langkawi International Aerospace and Maritime Exhibition (LIMA) happens every two years in Langkawi Island and they had their first volunteer programme last LIMA in 2011 which I was and still am proudly part of. For those who don't quite know what LIMA is about. Well, it's basically an exhibition where aerospace and maritime manufacturers, be it security defence systems, weapons, navigation devices etc, exhibit their products in hopes of serving the needs of key decision makers internationally. The exhibition this year will be held from the 26th of March till the 30th of March in the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), which is parallel to the Langkawi International Airport. Check out this website for furthur details and information.

This will be my second time volunteering for LIMA and together with 9 others who also have experience working at the exhibition as Liaison Officers, we will be leading and guiding 10 new volunteers each during the whole exhibition. Basically, if the newbies have any problems or questions about anything related to the exhibition, we'll be their go-to pals. In the same juncture, we will also be assigned to a delegation which is what L.O.s are supposed to do, guide the international delegates/delegation around the exhibition, according to a pre-scheduled programme. Sounds like a pretty easy-peasy task, does it? Well, it definitely is a lot of hard work, I'll tell you that much!

Nevertheless, the opportunities and experience I have gained through volunteering at LIMA'11 has been so fruitful and such a pleasure. That is one of the many reasons why I decided to apply again this year! Though I have to admit, the many perks and free stuff that come with it are very much intriguing. hahaha

I'll be flying to KL tomorrow afternoon to catch a flight to Langkawi with the rest on Wednesday morning! I just know LIMA'13's gonna be another roller coaster ride, in a very good way. More late nights, more overtimes, more stress, but I have a feeling, it's gonna be double the fun and double the excitement. Fingers crossed!

If you're interested in knowing more about LIMA, feel free to roam through the website
