Xmas Card Painting

Christmas has always been one of my favourite festive seasons of the year. The snow-capped mountains, the whimsical snowflakes, building snowmen, the hot chocolate by the fireplace and staying cozy in Christmas sweaters. Although I know it's impossible to experience all that in warm and humid Malaysia but I guess, it was more than that. Being raised in a non-Christian household, Christmas to us, wasn't at all about the birth of Jesus Christ but a season where everyone in my maternal family got together for the holidays and would play games, exchange gifts and have fun. So, I guess it was much more of the camaraderie and merriment we had with my cousins and presents, for me.

This year, on the contrary, was a little different as my third aunt's family and my uncle's family all spent Christmas overseas. So, we didn't really have a full blown party this year, but that didn't stop me from spreading some Christmas cheer and holiday spirit! I decided to get my creative juices flowing and hand-painted some Christmas postcards. My mom and dad had been going for painting classes since he middle of June and so, finding a full-blown artist palette wasn't an issue at home. With a little inspiration from Pinterest, Michael Buble and gang singing Christmas songs in the background and a whole lot of enthusiasm, I managed to whip out a couple of nice pieces, and had a lot of fun in the process.

Christmas is about giving and no matter the size or the price, it's the thought that counts. Hope you had a very merry Christmas season everyone! Am now counting down the days to 2014 :)
